1. Summary
We are continuously improving our booking solution, work on more and better features and build the best system to match your requirements. Part of this development is also that we discontinue old features or functionalities which are not used anymore or which are only used by a very small part of users whilst incurring high maintenance cost. We will notify customers when features are nearing End of Support or End of Life stages and update this article on a frequent basis. Also, we will extend the list of end of life items below.
2. Why do we discontinue features?
Features or products can reach the end of their life cycle for various reasons and we try to adapt our product to current market demands on a frequent basis. There can be multiple reasons for these changes: market demands, technology innovation and development driving changes in the product, or the booking solution simply improves over time and parts are replaced by functionally richer features.
One good example is our E-Mail Parser import tool which was designed to import bookings from external distribution partners automatically into our system. While this was a truly innovative feature when we designed it, the industry evolved and we have direct API integrations with the most relevant distribution channels. This allows a bi-directional synchronization directly via API instead of a one-way bookings import. Thus we decided to focus our developments on the APIs and getting more API connections instead of the the E-Mail Parser.
