GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation
When the GDPR is officially released you have to document when a user subscribed to your newsletter. For this case, you have the information in your customer database.
1. Go to 'Customers' in your operator account.
2. Click on a customer which subscribed to your newsletter.
3. There you have the information about the subscription.

The following information will be displayed:
- Order number when the customer subscribed
- Date and time of the subscription
- IP-Address
- Which type of opt-in you used for the customer
- which newsletter legal notice you displayed
Where can I modify the opt-in process?
Go to Marketing > Email Opt-In in your dashboard.
1. Newsletter legal notice
You could use the legal notice to inform your customers about how their personal information will be used, and the rights regarding the revocation of its use.
Example:
You are entitled to send a written notice to Demo-operator, Grafinger Str. 6, 81671 München, or to demo-operator@regiondo.de prohibiting the use, processing and forwarding of your personal data for marketing purposes.

Don't forget to choose the right language in case you offer different ones.

The legal notice is displayed in the check out process and customers are automatically agreeing to the legal notice when they finish the process.

A pre-checked opt-in is displayed in front of the newsletter legal notice.

Your shop will display an unchecked opt-in in front of your newsletter legal notice.
3. About customer information
In case a customer signed up for your newsletter you will be able to see this in your customer database.
If you want to unsubscribe for a customer you are allowed to do this but you are not allowed to subscribe for a customer during a dashboard booking.
The system will keep the original subscription information when a customer orders a second time. This is also the case if the customer unchecks your opt-in box at the second time of ordering.

Note
When you change your opt-in settings, the system won't unsubscribe any established agreements.
How to work with Single and double Opt-In via external Newsletter tools?
SOI = Single Opt-in / DOI = Double Opt-in
Case #1:
1. Booking #1 at 23.01.2019 - automatic single opt-in (SOI)
2. subscribe_date from Regiondo to Newsletter tool: 23.01.2019 with SOI
3. Newsletter Tool requires double opt-in (Pending DOI) 23.01.2019
4. Booking #2 at 13.02.2019 (SOI #2)
5. Newsletter Tool still pending DOI (step 3)
6. Customer accepts DOI from newsletter tool at 13.02.2019
= subscribe_date: 23.01.2019 (DOI)
Case #2:
