The default cart reservation time is 20 minutes. This means each product a customer adds to the cart is held for 20 minutes before the reservation is released.
You can now choose whether to use a reservation time and set how long it should last. This tutorial explains how to change the cart reservation time limit.
How to change the reservation time?
In order to change the reservation time, go to your Dashboard > Shop Configuration > Order Options. If the button Turn on cart reservation is activated, you have the opportunity to configure your individual reservation time on the product level. This can be done for each of your products separately.
Notes:
- If the Turn on cart reservation button is not activated, products in the customer’s cart are reserved for an unlimited period of time.
- If several products are added to the cart and at least one has a reservation time, the reservation timer is shown for all products—including those without a set reservation time.
- If multiple products are in the cart, the timer displays the remaining time of the product with the shortest reservation. Once that time expires, the timer updates to show the remaining time of the next product.
What happens when the countdown timer has expired?
If the checkout is not completed within the set time limit, the reservation is released.
The customer receives a notification informing them that they need to complete their purchase quickly, as stock availability can no longer be guaranteed. However, the customer can still complete the purchase if the product has not been bought by another customer.
Note:
If a customer does not complete the order process, these uncompleted bookings are displayed in your Dashboard > Bookings > Pending Bookings.
