To sell your offers through Viator, you need an active Viator account with your offers set up. If you do not yet have an account, register here: Viator Sign Up.
The Viator integration allows the exchange of the following offer and booking information:
- Reservations
- Bookings
- Cancellations
Viator does not support:
- The exchange of availabilities for offers requiring manual booking approval or no appointment needed.
- Changes to the number of passengers are not supported by the API and must be handled manually.
Note:
- Regiondo charges a ticket fee for bookings generated through Viator. The applicable fee is specified in your agreement with Regiondo. No payment fees apply, as all payments are processed by Viator.

Booking amendments are only supported for date changes. When a booking date is changed in Viator, the updated appointment date is automatically synchronized to Regiondo after validation.
1. Connect Your Viator Account in Regiondo
- In your Regiondo Dashboard, go to Channel Manager > Sales Channels
- Search for Viator, then click the Pen button at the right side to Edit the Channel.
- Click on Activate Channel.
- Once you activate the Viator channel, a request to link your Viator and Regiondo accounts is automatically sent to Viator.
- After Viator processes the request, your Operator ID is automatically populated in the Viator channel settings, as shown below.
- Then map your Viator tour options to your Regiondo ticket categories.
- Do not forget to Save your settings!
- Regiondo allows you to create as many customized ticket categories as you need.
Viator, on the other hand, only offers a very specific set of standardized Tour Options for use with their system. This could make it a little tricky when it comes to mapping your options between the two systems, depending on how complicated your Regiondo setup is. - The Tour Options available to you in Viator are Adult, Youth, Child, Infant, Senior.
- Connecting an offer on Viator will not allow you to choose the option "per vehicle/group" (private groups). In order to solve this situation, you have to modify the offer in your Regiondo dashboard, and make it either for person or for a group. If it is a group, please specify in the offer description in Viator.
- Select a Regiondo offer and map each Viator category name to your Regiondo ticket category using the dropdown menu.
- From that time, Viator will manually map their products based on the information you configured. This manual process takes time. Viator will inform you directly by email once your offers are connected.
- Your availabilities will not be synchronized until you received the confirmation email from Viator. If you don't hear anything from Viator within 3 weeks, reach out directly to your Viator destination manager.
Viator booking examples
- All Viator tickets can be scanned using the Regiondo app. To ensure this works correctly, enable the following setting in your Viator account: Products > [Select your product] > Tickets > Ticket redemption > Special instructions > Barcode from reservation system = Yes
- Once your offers are connected, all bookings placed on Viator will automatically appear in your Regiondo dashboard. We will also inform you by email each time a new booking has been placed on Viator.
- From now on you can view all bookings – regardless of sales channel – from your Regiondo account in Booking Overview. On the booking page, you will be able to retrieve the booking information from your customer as usual.
- Your available dates will be synchronized in real time between Regiondo and Viator. This will make overbookings a thing of the past, also avoiding having to manually adjust capacities.
- With this cooperation, you get access to international customers and the world market leaders of the travel industry.
2. How to connect your offers in Viator?
2.1. Create your offer in Viator
2.2. Choose the offer you would link to Regiondo in Viator
Click on Manage in order to edit your product:
2.3. Connect the availabilities on Viator with the ones in your Regiondo offer.
- Go to Product connection and click Connect.
- Choose your Regiondo Offers in order to make the product mapping.
- Afterward you can edit all your chosen availabilities and connect with the availabilities in your Regiondo System:
2.4. After connecting all availabilities, save and submit the data to Viator:
This finalizes the API connection with Viator for the specific offer. After the review, your offers will be available on Viator.

How to configure private tours?
To create private tours, you can use Viator’s group pricing feature:
1. Log in to your Viator Supplier Management Center and create a new product
In the Schedule & Pricing section, select Per vehicle/group.
2. Define the maximum travellers per booking, that determines how many people can book at the set price you provide.
Note: Once you choose a pricing type in Viator, it cannot be changed later.
3. Go to Manage offers > My offers in your Regiondo Dashboard
Select the product you want to set up as a private tour and navigate to Step 3. Tickets of the product creation. Make sure the total capacity and the quantity of the ticket category are both set to 1.
4. Go to Channel Manager > Sales Channels and open the Viator sales channel.
Select the product you want to map and choose Yes for the group option.
5. For Unit, choose the ticket category that should be mapped to Viator.
6. Enter the maximum group size value in the max. Travellers field. This must match the maximum travellers per booking set in Viator.
Example: If the capacity and ticket quantity are set to 1 and the max. travellers is 15, only one group can book a timeslot, with up to 15 people.
Note: We recommend using only one ticket category for private tour products.

3. How to Cancel a Booking on Viator
Managing bookings effectively is a crucial aspect of providing exceptional customer service and maintaining operational efficiency. When using Viator as your sales channel through the Regiondo platform, it's important to be aware of certain limitations regarding booking amendments, particularly related to changes in capacity.
These steps will guide you through the process of canceling bookings on Viator, while also highlighting an important note regarding capacity changes.
Cancellation Process:
3.1. Log in to your Viator account.
3.2. Go to the Bookings section and locate the booking you want to cancel.
3.3. Open the booking details and click Cancel Booking.
3.4. Follow the on-screen instructions and review the cancellation terms before confirming the cancellation.
Important Notes:

Capacity Changes: Currently, Viator's booking amendment functionality does not support changes to the capacity of a booking. While you can cancel a booking, adjustments to the capacity are not available through Viator's system.
If you need to modify the capacity for a booking, we kindly request refunding and rebooking from Viator platform. - Canceling bookings on Viator is a straightforward process that allows you to efficiently manage your reservations. However, it's important to be aware that capacity changes are not currently supported within Viator's booking amendment options.
- Post-Event Cancellations: If a booking is canceled in Viator after the event date has passed, Viator processes it as a refund, not a cancellation. In these cases, the booking status in Regiondo is not updated automatically and remains unchanged. Although this scenario is uncommon, if it occurs, please contact the Regiondo Support team at support@regiondo.com to have the ticket(s) canceled on the Regiondo side.
