The Seat Map (Seat-Based Booking) feature allows you to create a visual seating layout for your events, enabling customers to select their preferred seat during the booking process.
Unlike the previous workaround of using sections and rows with a static seating image, Seat Map provides an interactive booking experience similar to popular event ticketing platforms.
Important note:
Seat Map is configured at the Price List level. If your product has multiple Price Lists, you'll need to create a separate Seat Map for each one.
The Seat Map option becomes available only after you've created at least one Ticket Category within the Price List.
1. Create a new Seat Map
1.1. Seat maps are enabled per Price List during product creation or editing:
Open your product and go to Step 3 – Tickets.
Click Edit on a Price List and create your first Ticket Category.
After saving the Ticket Category, click Edit again. You will now see the Seat-Based Booking toggle. Activate it.
Once activated, the Map Builder appears.
1.2. In the Map Builder you can:
Upload a background image — open the options menu at the top right and choose Upload Layout Image. If you don't have a background image, use Create Figure to build the structure of your map manually.
Add figures — figures mock tables, stages, or other characteristics of your venue.
Add seats — click Create Seats. In the new-seat menu you can:
Define seat naming: character first (A1, A2, …) or number first (1A, 1B, …).
Choose which of your Ticket Categories apply to the seat. A seat must have at least one category and can have several.
After creation, click a seat to change its label and categories.
Move seats — click Select and drag seats into position. Use the Radius option to size seats to fit your map (a larger radius makes the seat appear bigger).
Grid view — enable Canvas Helper → Show Grid to place seats more accurately.
Save — click Save to store the map.
Back on Step 3. Tickets, you'll see Seat Map Active for any Price List that has a saved seat map.
A separate map must currently be created for each Price List.
2. Book a product with a Seat Map
2.1. Widgets (Guest Booking)
Products with an active Seat Map can currently only be booked through the latest booking widget (V3).
During the booking process, customers can view the Seat Map directly in the Booking Widget (which can be embedded within the Product Widget). The map displays Available, Selected, and Occupied seats in real time. If multiple Ticket Categories are assigned to a seat, the customer can select the desired category after choosing the seat.
Customers can also open the Seat Map in full-screen mode for easier seat selection and use the + and – controls to zoom in and out.
The selected seat is displayed on the customer's ticket, included on the mobile ticket, and visible to you on the Booking Details page.
2.2 Staff booking (Old and New POS)
When you select a product with an active Seat Map in the Old or New POS, the Seat Map is displayed, allowing you to select seats on behalf of your customer.
Note: Payment Links are currently not supported for Seat Map bookings.
3. Redeem gift certificates for a Seat Map product
Customers can purchase gift certificates for products with an active Seat Map as usual. Seat selection takes place during the redemption process and works the same way as in the Widgets.
Note: If a single gift certificate covers multiple people, all participants must be booked during the same redemption. Partial redemption is currently not supported.
4. Manage Seat Maps
After you've sold your first tickets for a product with an active Seat Map, go to your Calendar and select the appointment with the active Seat Map. You'll see a new button: Manage Seat Map, which opens the map for that specific event.
From this view, you can:
- See which seats are already booked and which are still available;
- Disable unbooked seats if your venue setup changes. This only affects the selected event and does not apply to other appointments.
Note: Moving a customer from one seat to another is currently not supported.
5. Current limitations & good to know
Latest Widget (V3) only — seat maps are not available in the previous Widget V2 or the Ticketshop.
Payment Links are not supported for Seat Map bookings.
Change Date & Time for a seat booking is not supported yet.
Re-seating / moving a customer from one seat to another is not supported yet.
Duplicate Map — a map must be created separately for each Price List.
Gift certificates for multiple people must be redeemed in full, not partially.
Seat Map option only becomes available after you've created at least one Ticket Category within the Price List.
