Overview
Starting January 1, 2026, a new regulation introduced by the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate) requires businesses to link their point-of-sale (POS) terminals with their cash registers (Registratore Telematico).
This requirement applies to businesses that:
- Accept electronic payments, and
- Are required to issue electronic receipts
The linking must be completed via the “Fatture e Corrispettivi” (Invoices and Revenues) portal.
What does this mean for you?
If you operate in Italy and use electronic payments, you must:
- Identify all devices used to accept payments (e.g. POS terminals, Tap to Pay)
- Retrieve their serial numbers
- Register and link each device to your cash register through the Revenue Agency portal
How does this work with Regiondo?
- Regiondo provides your booking and management system
- Payments are processed via Stripe
Important:
- Regiondo does not perform or manage the linking process
- You (the operator) are responsible for completing this registration with the Italian authorities
Where can I find the required information?
POS terminal serial numbers (Stripe Terminal / Tap to Pay)
You can find serial numbers:
- Directly on the device
- In the Stripe Dashboard
- Go to: Terminal → Readers
- You can view and export serial numbers by location
- Via the Stripe API (if applicable)
Stripe account identifier
If required (e.g. for online payments), you can use:
- Your Stripe Account ID (Contact the Regiondo Support Team to get it)
What acquirer should I select?
For payments processed via Stripe, select:
Stripe Technology Europe, Limited
If this option is not available in the portal, enter the following details manually:
- Acquirer location: Abroad / Estero
- Tax code (Codice Fiscale): 97979220155
- Name (Denominazione): Stripe Technology Europe, Limited
- Agreement number: Your Stripe Account ID or Merchant ID
Deadlines
The deadline depends on when your POS terminal is activated:
Existing POS devices
- Must be linked within 45 days from when the Revenue Agency web service becomes available
New POS devices (activated after January 31, 2026)
- Must be linked:
- From the 6th day
- Until the last working day of the second month following first use
Example:
- First use: February 1, 2026
- Linking window: April 6 – April 30, 2026
Important notes
- This requirement may also apply to online payments, depending on whether your business must issue electronic receipts
- This information is based on Stripe documentation and may be updated
- Regiondo cannot provide legal or tax advice
- We strongly recommend consulting a legal or tax advisor to confirm how this regulation applies to your business

- Link all POS devices to your cash register
