Before proceeding, make sure the connection is already active, as described in the article: How to connect to Viator?
Group tickets allow you to sell an entire vehicle, boat, or group at a single price instead of charging per person. This article explains how to configure a group ticket product in Viator and Regiondo.
A note on terminology: what Viator calls a unit is called a category in Regiondo.
1. Setting up the Group Product in Viator
1.1. Log in to your Viator supplier management center and create a new product.
1.2. In the Schedule & Pricing section, select the option Per vehicle/group.
1.3. Define the maximumtravellers per booking. This determines how many people can book at the price you set.
Important: once a pricing type is chosen in Viator it cannot be changed. To correct it, create a new product.
2. Setting up the Group Offer in Regiondo
2.1. In your Regiondo Dashboard, go to Manage offers > My offers.
2.2. Select the product you want to set up as a private tour and navigate to Step 3: Tickets.
2.3. Configure the Total Capacity and the Quantity for the Regiondo Category that is mapped to Viator.
Keep the following in mind:
The configured availability determines how many bookings can be sold through Viator.
You can create multiple price lists or ticket categories in Regiondo.
For group offers, only one Regiondo Category can be mapped to a Unit and sold through Viator.
Any additional price lists or ticket categories remain available for sale through other Sales Channels or the Ticketshop.
Example: You offer a private boat tour with: 3 boats and up to 4 travellers per boat
To configure this in Regiondo:
Create one Regiondo Category for the private tour.
Set the Category availability to 3 so that Viator can sell up to 3 private tours at the same time.
Each booking can include up to 4 travellers.
The product and any additional price lists or ticket categories can still be sold through other Sales Channels or the Ticketshop.
2.4. Go to Channel Manager > Sales Channels and open the Viator Sales Channel.
2.5. Select the product you want to map as a group ticket and choose Yes at the Group Option.
2.6. For Unit, select the ticket category that should be mapped to Viator.
2.7. Enter the maximum group size in the max. Travellers field. This value must match the maximum travellers per booking you set up in Viator.
Example: If you set the maximum capacity for the price list and the maximum quantity for the ticket category to 1, and define max. Travellers as 15, only one group can book this activity for a specific timeslot, and that group can consist of a maximum of 15 people.
Good to know: The Unit setting applies to Viator only. On all other sales channels, the same product continues to be sold as a regular product.
